Please take into account that the 5 stars takes into account the type of restaurant this is. If you are from the South, you know what a meat and three is. This is a great meat and three place. The main entrees rotate each day, so until you learn the schedule, you'll have to wait until you get there. If you are lucky enough to be there on chicken and dressing day, lucky you. Make sure to have dessert and sweet tea to complete the meal. Also, they do take cards, but it's best to have cash.

Great old Rome restaurant! Homemade Southern cooking...delicious!! Homemade cakes as well! We order their chicken and dressing by the pan and caramel cake every year for our Thanksgiving dinner and it always wonderful!! No atmosphere but great food

Situated in historic old brick two story structure sits a southern food joint with Deep South flavor. On my first attempt to locate I missed the turn, but people standing outside rubbing their satisfied belly's told me just where it was hiding. I entered & wound my way through a few rooms of antique dining tables to arrive at a cafeteria style tray slide separating the patrons from the mouth watering options. "Sweet heart" this, and "honey" that was uttered by the lovely staff. Love was surely a part of the rich flavor cooked in here. Homemade chicken & dressing, crispy fried chicken, beans, potatoes, okra, & other fine southern cooking choices all displayed behind a glass cabinet. I made my choices & low-and-behold a dish of freshly baked blueberry cobbler was being delivered as I was being rung up. I ordered a huge scoop of that prized dessert, and sat down to one of the most delicious lunches I've had in a while. If in Rome, Georgia scoot right down the street from the stadium for a fantastic southern gem, Stanley's Restaurant!
